To achieve the safety, scale, yield and sustainability in fresh food chains needed to responsibly feed 1.4 billion Chinese citizens, fresh food chains must be redesigned as well-integrated, high-tech systems.

Education

The education and training of local staff must be taken to a much higher level to enable greenhouse managers and workers to really “read the plants” at all times and to get the full potential out of the available technology.

Sustainability

In view of the enormous amounts of energy, water, pesticides and other resources used in the older greenhouses, a full redesign of the infrastructure has to be done in order to make the fresh food chains sustainable.

To achieve the above, the most innovative pioneers in precision agriculture and sustainable infrastructure had to be integrated into a solid, long-term consortium: FreshTeq China.
